This policy explains what information BOGO Telecom collects through bogotelecom.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to this website only.
Information you give us
The only information we collect directly is what you submit through the contact form on our contact page: your name, email address, and optionally your company and phone number, along with the message you write.
We use that information for one purpose — to respond to your enquiry and to carry on the resulting conversation. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list on the strength of a contact form submission.
How contact form submissions are handled
Submissions are delivered by email through Microsoft Graph and are received by Nicholas Bosco, Director of Engineering. The message is transmitted to our business email account and retained there as ordinary business correspondence.
To prevent automated abuse, the contact form uses a hidden field that real visitors never see, a timing check on how quickly the form was submitted, and a rate limit based on your IP address. These are used solely to reject automated submissions.
Information collected automatically
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and which links and actions are used. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data including a truncated IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited.
We use this to improve the site. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine analytics data with contact form submissions. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy terms, and you can prevent collection by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Our hosting provider also processes standard server request data as a normal part of delivering the site.
Cookies
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics as described above. The site does not use advertising cookies, and it does not run remarketing or cross-site tracking. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site works normally without them.
Downloads
Our capability statement and contact card can be downloaded without submitting any information, and we do not gate them behind a form. Downloads may be counted as anonymous events in analytics.
How long we keep information
Contact form correspondence is retained as ordinary business email for as long as it remains relevant to the enquiry or an ongoing business relationship. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Nick@bogotelecom.com and we will respond.
You can also opt out of analytics collection using the browser add-on linked above, and you can simply contact us by phone or email instead of using the form.
Links to other sites
This site links to external references — specification bodies, standards organizations, and federal rules — and to bogoflow.io, which is our own separate product site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, and those sites have their own policies.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and delivered through Microsoft Graph. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we do not recommend sending confidential technical documentation through the contact form — for that, get in touch first and we will arrange an appropriate route.
Children
This is a business-to-business site aimed at broadband network operators. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
